IT School Kids
International charity project of IT Ukraine Association, which aims at ensuring access to education for Ukrainian children by providing schools computers
About the project
Since the beginning of the full-scale war, thousands of Ukrainian families have been forced to leave their homes and move to safer regions of the country. The new realities offer children access to education in a remote format, leaving them no opportunity to attend educational institutions equipped with the necessary devices. Today, IT Ukraine Association is doing its best to obtain help from international partners and to organize the transfer of deviced to children, so that they can continue their education.
We are sincerely grateful to the community for supporting the initiative and provide a full range of organizational solutions for fast logistics, efficient equipment distribution among recipients and activity reports.
Today, at the request of the Ministry of Temporarily Occupied Territories and Internally Displaced Persons of Ukraine, 130,000 schoolchildren need devices which would provide them access to education.

FAQs
Why is this project important?
Since the beginning of the War, thousands of families in Ukraine have been forced to leave their homes and move to safer regions of the country taking only the bare minimum of necessities with them. As the new school year begins, much of the education is offered solely online due the active phase of the War, leaving children the only option of continuing their studies through technologies connecting them to their lessons. Through time and time again, we see that families are in no position to return for their technical equipment due to the destruction of homes and infrastructure. Occupied areas are heavily damaged and are lacking equipment, due to looting activities of the russian soldiers. As of today, 130 thousand school students are in need of devices that would give them access to education.
What equipment is needed?
Laptops and tablets needed, new or used (made after 2015), in working condition and complete with power supply.
What are the minimum technical requirements for the computer equipment?
Minimum device requirements: Architecture: Intel or AMD x86-64-bit compatible device RAM: 4 GB Internal storage: 16 GB Bootable from USB drive BIOS: Full administrator access. Who is responsible for the distribution?
At the numerous requests of educational institutions and internally displaced persons, the Ministry of Temporarily Occupied Territories and Internally Displaced Persons of Ukraine together with IT Ukraine Association have launched an initiative to support those affected by the war. The government agency and our partners are primarily responsible for distributing the collected devices to schools and students.
